Mindless Granny

Another new blog!
Blogger has apparently locked me out of my previous blog (http://www.addcrafter.blogspot.com/). Looks like I will be blogging here from now on. If you are looking for my knitting projects, check me out on http://www.ravelry.com/ (username: Pragmatic).
Back to the purpose of this blog, my current project.
I am currently working on the Color-Wheel Quilt from Joelle Hoverson's "Last Minute Patchwork and Quilting Projects". I saw a picture of the finished quilt over at her website http://www.purlbee.com/ and had to try it. I don't really sew and definitely don't quilt. This should be interesting.
I spent over two hours at the Joann Fabrics in Hamden choosing the necessary 52 different fabrics. I am sure they were thrilled when I arrived at the cutting counter with 60 bolts of fabric.

Here is the stack of fabric. Approx. 60 colors, each 1/8 of a yard, pre-cutting
I spent the rainy weekend cutting and piecing the quilt. I am currently basting (hand basting...what a pain!).
I am hoping to finish this weekend.
Oh, on a final note, my #003 Skye Blue Rowan Scottish Tweed DK arrived. I can finish the last 4 rows of my mitten.
More Color-Wheel Quilt pictures below (cuts, piecing and night sewing).
